Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (code: AMS or EHAM) is the biggest airport of the Netherlands and one of the busiest of Europe. Schiphol is the 4th largest airport in Europe for passengers. In terms of cargo, the airport is the 3rd largest in Europe. It handles over 450 thousands flights, servicing almost 60 million passengers, yearly. Schiphol is the home to KLM, and operates as a European hub for Delta Air Lines.

The airport openend in 1916 as a military airbase, but opened up for passengers quickly after. During World War 2 it was bombed and destroyed, but already in 1945 the airport operated again.

Schiphol has one terminal and three departure and arrival halls which are all connected to the one terminal. Planes arrive and depart from one of the six runways available to Schiphol.
